    -- The attention of subscribers is again directed to the regulation that no patients shall be treated, except such as are unable to obtain adequate treatment elsewhere, and for whom the gratuitous service of the Infirmary is, therefore, a necessity. In order to avoid the risk of a fruitless journey, patients living at a distance (except in cases of accident or emergency) are requested to send to the Resident Surgical Officer statements by medical men as to the nature of their ailments, and not to arrive at the Infirmary until it has been ascer¬ tained that definite arrangements have been made for their admission.
