Notes
Part of a series of watercolours by Mrs. Alec-Tweedie consisting of views of the Nile and the various activities of African natives. The view of Sennar on the Blue Nile, Wellcome Library catalogue no. 37668i, has typwritten text label attached to the verso; this text refers to the region depicted as providing a lake for a projected dam to be built in 1925. The series of views may have been made while Mrs. Alec-Tweedie was part of a prospective survey undertaken before the building of the dam
