Fish ... 224 lbs. Total . 93,943, lbs. During the year one butcher was prosecuted for having unsound meat for sale in his possession; a fine, of £20 was imposed. Public Health (Meat) Regulations, 1924. During the year one butcher was prosecuted for depositing meat intended for human consumption in a shed, the walls and roof of which had not been limewashed in accordance with the Regulations, and for permitting filth and refuse to accumulate in the shed; a fine of £10 was imposed. Slaughter of Animals Act, 1933. The Department granted 2 licences and renewal licences during the year. Horseflesh. One shop was opened during the year for the sale of horse flesh. The animals are slaughtered in the area of an adjacent Borough and inspected by officers of that authority. Foot and Mouth Disease Orders. During the year the Borough was declared to be in an infected area and 27 licences for the movement of animals were issued in accordance with the Regulations.
