Description
Wooden panel of St Margaret of Antioch, also known as Margaret the Virgin (3rd century). Patron saint of nurses and invoked for pregnant women and against sterility and wounds and maladies of the face. The item was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1955 (accession number R39/1955). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
