An impression of this print is attributed to the Norwegian artist Johan Friedrich Leonhard Dreier in the catalogue of Yale University Art Gallery (as "The Burgher Militia (Das Burger Militär)"). The article on Dreier by Knut Ormhaug in the Norsk Biografisk Leksikon states that he produced around 40 caricatures, and that lithographs by him were printed in 1832-1833 on the lithographic printing press that was installed in Bergen in 1827 by Georg C.C.W. Prahl
