About this work

Description

An acclaimed drama about what would happen if a nuclear bomb was dropped on Sheffield. The first half of the drama weaves a plausible series of events culled from genuine news archive as normal people carry on their day-to-day lives. Almost exactly half-way through, the bomb drops and the catastrophe unfolds and the 'threads' of civilisation unravel. The bomb dropping and the appalling after-effects are truly harrowing (the DVD release has a '15' certificate); later in the DVD, as time passes, further consequences reveal themselves.
