Description
Antibodies bind to bacteria and viruses and can
prevent infections in several different ways.
One way they can do this is by causing
aggregation so all the bacteria clump together.
The left hand panel shows Streptococcus mutans in
the absence of antibodies
and the right hand panel shows their aggregation
in the presence of the anti Streptococcus mutans
antibody produced in transgenic tobacco.
