About this work
Description
One of a series of collectable cards advertising Holloway's pills and ointment. The pills were apparently made from aloe, myrrh, and saffron and whereas they were unlikely to have cured a lot of the ailments they were supposed to were immensely popular at the time. This one focuses on Holloway's Ointment for leg ulcers in the aged. The card shows an indian man in a turban and uniform riding a black horse. The image is surrounded by a decorative border in pink with the text in red above and below it.
