About this work

Description

Movie showing two full cell cycles during Drosophila development. The embryo has been co-injected with the calcium-sensitive calcium green dextran and the tubulin has been stained with the Ca-insensitive dye rhodamine, allowing calcium changes and the stage of the cell cycle to be monitored separately. The tubulin concentrates in the spindles and spindle poles during metaphase and anaphase. The calcium signals correlate with the metaphase/anaphase portions of the cell cycle.
