'Experimental Committee of the Askesian Society ...'. Minutes of experiments and demonstrations performed at meetings of the Society, especially concerning galvanism and other aspects of physics and chemistry. Dates covered: 1801-1803 and 1806-1808.

1 volume 1 volume: 228 × 122 mm., i, 67 ff. (33-67 blank) interleaved with blotting paper, the latter watermarked 1796. Original leather binding. Panel blind-stamped on the front cover, apparently with the words 'T Bowden. Reportation'.

The Askesian Society was founded in London in 1796 as a scientific forum for natural and experimental philosophy and it continued in being until 1808. Its members were predominantly members of the medical profession and Quakers, including William Allen, Richard Phillips and Luke Howard. In 1806 the British Mineralogical Society was incorporated with it. Cf.
