Photograph of an oil painting of Sir Charles Wheatstone (1802-1875), English scientist and inventor of the steroscope, seated, in a decorative oval frame. The painting was acquired at auction from Stevens on 7th March 1933, Lot 332, and accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 16th May 1933 (CC 8269).
