    in the Appendix will be found explanations of the opinions and practice of several of my friends, some of which tend to corroborate, while others are more or less at variance with, the views I have endeavoured to lay open to the profession ; these also are given in their own language, I must, therefore, be acquitted of the imputation of sup- pression, or misrepresentation, to serve my own purposes.
