Below the portrait, six lines of engraved Greek verse by G. van Nieuwenhuysen. It is not clear whether he was the Utrecht publisher Gerrit van Nieuwenhuyzen (born 1628). According to Hunger op. cit. he was one of Paludanus's sons-in-law
