About this work
Description
Examines issues raised in the Equinox programme, The Rise and Fall of GM, using clips from that programme. Will the developing world really benefit from genetic modification in agriculture, or is this merely a slogan to promote commercial interests? Have the real issues been obscured by scaremongerers? What are the risks? Arguing in favour of genetic modification in agriculture are Richard North (writer), Stephen Smith (scientist, Novartis) and Prof. C.S. Prakash (plant geneticist). Those against are Dr. Mae Wan Ho (Open University), Kevin Blundell (Christian Aid) and Charlie Kronick (Greenpeace).
