'Effects of Oxygen Tension on Vascular and Other Smooth Muscle'

File consists of final versions of papers, draft papers, correspondence and photographs of experiment results (to be used in the final article) related to the published paper by D.J. Smith and J.R. Vane, "Effects of Oxygen Tension on Vascular and Other Smooth Muscle", Journal of Physiology, vol.186 no.2, p284-294, October 1966. Details include:

Three different typed drafts of the paper including; "new" typed draft of the paper with a few small amendments, full reference list, and figure and table details; and two older drafts with significant annotation.

Correspondence between Vane and the publisher including; draft of original submission letter from Vane to the publisher (1 December 1965); notification of receipt from Journal of Physiology (6 December 1965); letter from R.V. Coxon to Vane referring to an enclosed report and saying that the paper was not acceptable in its current format (10 February 1966) - the report on "paper 941" is included and has been marked up; typed list of answers to some of the comments (undated); letter from Vane to Coxon returning an amended "ms 941" (23 March 1966); letter from Coxon regarding four lost figures for the article (29 March 1966); Vane's response (31 March 1966); and a letter from Coxon confirming that the manuscript had been accepted for publication with a few small amendments (20 May 1966).
