    It is earnestly desired that contril)utions he taken up in the several churches in this city, for the Cambkidgk Disimcnsary, on Sunday, the 19th of December, or as soon thereafter as may be found convenient. The medical officers of the Dispen.sary are five District Physicians, each of whom receives a small salary, and eight Attending Physicians at the Central Office, whose services are rendered gratuitously. From the beginning of the year to the first of October, the District Physicians attended 594 cases, made 2167 visits, and issued 1742 pre- scri2)tions. During the same period 682 cases were treated at the Cen- tral Office : 1835 office-calls were met with appropriate advice and remedies, and 1969 jjrescriptions were issued by the Attending Physi- cians. During this period the entire cost of administration for the Jfispen-, sary was $1328.71, of which $1101.23 came into the treasury from contributions in the several churches. The exjrenses for the ensuing year are estimated at not less than two thousand dollars, the whole of which, it is hoped will be contrib- uted by the churches, as this is i^reeminently a Christian charity. It cannot escai)e observation that, at the ordinary and legitimate charge for their services, the contribution made by the physicians alone will considerably exceed the entire sum solicited from the benevolent public.
