Description
Photomacrograph of human dermis scar tissue. Scars form as part of the body's natural wound healing response and are areas of tough tissue made up of collagen fibres. They form after the dermis of the skin has been damaged or injured, and look and feel different to surrounding areas. Width of image is 1 cm.
