About this work

Description

Plant at water's edge. Thick, upright trifoliate leaves of long stemmed white hairy flowers, tinged pink. Has been used as a bitter ingredient in some alcoholic drink and as a substitute for hops in beer brewing. Has been used to reduce fevers but has an emetic effect in excessive doses.
