Description
R. Norris Wolfenden was a physician with a particular interest in laryngology. In 1887 he and Morell Mackenzie founded the Journal of laryngology and rhinology. In 1893 he retired from medicine and took up various studies including radiology (from 1896) and marine zoology, especially copepoda. In 1912 he emigrated to Canada and took up fruit-farming at Grimsby, Ontario. See further J. Dundas-Grant, 'In memoriam: R. Norris Wolfenden', Journal of laryngology and otology, 1926, pp. 833-834, and D.M. Damkaer, 'R. Norris Wolfenden, M.D.: the medical episode', Journal of laryngology and otology, 1989, 103: 1005-1013
