About this work
Description
The fourth in a six-part series following the stories of children undergoing pioneering treatments for rare medical conditions at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital. This part tells the moving stories of Ellie and Kody. 11-year-old Ellie has a genetic disorder that restricts the growth of her skull (Crouzon's disease) and she faces extensive surgery to correct it, while 1-year-old Kody was born with a rare lymphatic disorder (cystic hyrdoma) that causes massive swelling in his neck, mouth and face. With both children we see quite detailed surgical footage.
