About this work
Description
What will life be like in 2020? People are living longer and demographics point to seriously inadequate planning for the future. Many people will be shocked by inadequate pensions so drastic changes to pension schemes should be made now (1996). People are fitter for longer and should be able to continue working - the retirement age should be raised and noone should access pensions early. Real conflict could develop between generations over jobs. But those who survive to their 80s will become the aged - and health costs will spiral. Will there still be an NHS in 2020? How will it be funded?
