What you’ll do

Hear Dr Barbara Lasic talk about the culture of beauty and cosmetics in 18th-century France. From poisonous cosmetics to the beauty rituals of the day, looking good was a complex affair!

You’ll also get the chance to look at related 18th-century prints and publications from our collections.

About your speaker

Dr Barbara Lasic is a lecturer in History of Art at the University of Buckingham. She has published research on French decorative arts, the history of taste and the history of collecting.

Where we’ll be

In the Viewing Room in the Library on Level 2. When you arrive in the Library, turn left and the room will be on your right.
